"I'm in a hurry, get me those stats!"
You just don't have the time to sit in front of your computer after your workout and figure out all the stats of the race you just did. You have a busy day ahead of you and you've got to get on the road.

No problem! Save your race, export it using RacerMate's Coaching Software, run it through WattsUp, and then print your report. It all takes two or three minutes to do once you get used to it. Then later on you can sit, relax, and take your time while you look at your report and analize it over coffee, a sports drink, or while your on your break.

"How many Watts did I average on that hill?"
First you need to find the portion of the race you want to analyze. Was it a series of multiple continuous legs that made up the grade, one particular leg, or was it from one time to another that you remember? WattsUp can let you choose any of these situations! Let's say you can't remember exactly where that hill was. You can click a graphic button that will display your course outline at the top of the screen, then as you click on the leg numbers you can see where they are positioned on the course graphic.

"I want the stats for the last 15 minutes."
WattsUp does this! There's a time segment list-box in WattsUp and you can choose your 'start' time by clicking on it. Then scroll down till you find your desired 'end' time and while holding down your 'Ctrl' key you click on it. Now your checking out only that time segment of your race.

"I beat my personal best time, I want a comparison."
WattsUp can compare races and workouts and can also give you a nice print out of it all. First you choose what portion of your race you want to compare, all of it, a certain time segment of it, a certain leg, whatever. Then you choose the 'Store Data for Comparison' button and you're first portion of your comparison is stored. Close the first race, load up the second race you want to compare to and then store that data using the same procedure. Now that you have two races stored for comparison you can click the 'View Data for Comparison' button and see your results. Try clicking the print button after that and you'll be able to generate an awesome comparison report. (Keep in mind that you don't necessarily have to compare similar data.)

"I want to use Heart Rate and Wattage Zones in my races."
WattsUp comes with a custom built database that specializes in Critical Power and Heart Rate Zones. You can set your own heart rate and wattage zones, you can also skip the defaults and use your own percentage of Lactate Threshold heart rates if you like. The neat thing about all this is that once you set it up it interacts with your races and lets you know how long you stayed in each zone.

"What HR Zone was I in between mile 60 and 70?"
So let's say that you wanted to know how much time you spent in a certain heart rate zone between mile 60 and mile 70. The first obstacle to overcome is finding out the closest time segments to the milage markers you want to use. To find the closest time segment (data-line) to mile 60 you would click on the first time and take a guess as to where the 60th mile would be, go forward or backward until you find it. Use the same method to find the closest data-line to mile 70. We are going to insert 'Milage Markers' in the next up-date of WattsUp, this will add much greater functionality to the software and help everyone know where they are at in regards to total miles. Once you highlite your span of time segments you will be looking at the stats for that particular portion of miles, 60 to 70.

Now, if you have inserted your information in the WattsUp database properly you will notice the time you spent in your heart rate zones of that portion of the race.
